God is Never Silent, Look for Him in the Pandemic

3/25/2020

How fast the world has changed because of the COVID-19 coronanvirus! It's frightening, isn't it? The United States went from being globally connected to closed in just a few weeks. Some of you who live in other countries are locked down even more. The Pandemic's death total keeps mounting. Every time I look on my online news feed, I prayerfully hope situations are getting better not worse around the world. At this point they are still changing for the worse.

A new normal for us all has taken over in just a few weeks. The practice of social distancing has become our standard operation. Before this Pandemic if someone said, "She always distanced herself socially," we would think she was struggling psychologically. Now it's a physical practice that is healthy. And if the coronavirus wasn't depressing enough, the practice of social distancing is affecting most businesses in a very negative way, except if you make paper goods or cleaning fluids. I just heard that one of my older friends might have been exposed to the virus, so the whole Pandemic is getting more and more personal. A family in one of our states has sadly lost four members, with others still sick from the virus.

Some people are asking "Where is God?" I understand that question. I have certainly thought it. However, looking at God's Word, He is always with us - that means He is with each sick person, in everyone's struggles, in every fearful situation and so on in this crisis.

O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O LORD, You know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it. Psalm 139:1-6 NASB®

When you want to pull your hair out because life seems out of control - don't - because God is there wanting to get you through the chaos (Psalm 18:31-36). When you are not sure what to do, and you need understanding, wisdom and strength, turn to God; He is always there (Isaiah 40:27-31). When there is trouble and darkness seems all around, don't be afraid. The light of His presence is there. Go to Him in prayer. Trust Him. He is there! He wants to give you comfort and wisdom to get you through the Pandemic (Proverbs 3:5-8; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, James 1:5).

What I have seen in my life is, God is always with me, He is never silent, but at times it is just hard for me to hear Him because of the confusion, chaos, and panic around me and within me. Can you relate? When God seems silent to us, what we need to do is calm ourselves down - be still before our God by prayer and listening to His voice through His Word. He is there, whether we feel it or not. We need to also remind ourselves, He is our strength and refuge, and His constant presence will get us through any trouble, any situation, and any pandemic. Read Psalm 23 and 46 and 91 also Isaiah 53.

Because of God we will be ok! I love ya'll, Gini
