The One True God is more Wonderful than our Human Reasoning could Invent

5/30/2019

A friend of mine, who is in heaven now, said, "We don't have to make up stories about how wonderful God is, because He is!" I hardily agreed with her.

Our incomprehensible God

The One True God, Who is found in the Jewish and Christian scriptures (the Holy Bible), is so much more incredible than our human reasoning could invent. God spoke and everything came into existence and stays in existence because of Him. God inspired and His Word went forth to reveal Who He is. God planned and all of history unfolded. God loved and the world was changed. God died and salvation came to all who wanted it. God empowered and miracles took place, and much more. How do you humanly explain these things? You can't!

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, OR WHO BECAME HIS COUNSELOR? Or WHO HAS FIRST GIVEN TO HIM THAT IT MIGHT BE PAID BACK TO HIM AGAIN? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things... Romans 11:33-36 NASB®

God's Word allows us to understand Who God is, but still His ways and thoughts are so wondrously above ours (Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9 NASB®

The One True God gave us what we needed, not what we deserved. We didn't deserve God's kindness, mercy, or love, because we were walking on a path of rebellion against Him, but He showered them upon us anyway. There was no reason for God to give us His grace / favor, because as sinners we were His enemies, deserving His wrath, but He abundantly gives us grace. We didn't love God but He loved us, and sent His Son, Jesus, to take the punishment we deserved from our sins upon Himself. (Read 1 John 4:10.)

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:1-9 NASB®

The incomprehensible God dwells with us. Over the last four decades I have gotten to truly know and love Jesus Christ; He is incredibly more wonderful than I could imagine. No other religion has a God like Jesus Christ: He is the eternal sovereign Ruler of the universe, the source and sustainer of all life, yet He died for us, so we could have life eternal. His power is always driven by His perfect wisdom and compassion. His grace and kindness towards us extends into eternity. He is the Creator, and if that wasn't enough, He created us to love. Even though Jesus is the self-existent One who needs no one, yet He lovingly pursues a relationship with us even to the point of giving His life for us. (Read Psalm 136:1-9; Isaiah 9:6-7; Mark 4:35-41; Romans 8:31-39; Ephesians 1:7-8, 2:7, 3:16-20, 5:2; Colossians 1:13-17.)

Who do you worship, the One true God or another? To worship the One True God you first need to believe in Him, which if you think about it, it just makes sense. Yet, even as Christians, we can all end up worshiping another so-called god - a person, stuff and yes, even ourselves. Anything or anyone you allow to consume your thoughts, drive your desires, and lead your actions to the point you place them over the One God and His will - that person or thing is a god or idol to you. Worshiping or following idols really makes no sense - because you are following what the One True God created, not the Creator. If you believe in the One True God, do you follow Him or an idol? Know, love and worship the One True God and you will have life eternal and abundant. Follow someone or something else, and struggle. You have a choice. (Read Jeremiah 17:5-8; Romans 1:19-25.)

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. / ...you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God... 1 John 5:20; 1 Thessalonians 1:9b NASB®

Do you believe in a false god? Many people around the world believe in a god that is formed by peoples’ hopeful thoughts or fantasies, but the One True God isn't like that. He is the One Who brought forth our existence and everything else in existence, and sustains that existence. He is beyond complete human understanding because - He is God. Knowing and believing in the true God gives you eternal life. Believing in a false god may bring you temporarily satisfaction but it always ends in a dead end. (Read Isaiah 43:10-13; John 3:16-18, 17:3.)
